    Hard going on the Tongariro yesterday. Being low and clear there wasnt much action but I was rewarded with a nice 6lb silver bullet.

    Then off for a night fish and I was treated to a stunning sunset.

    About 10 past 6 it just kicked off, was the most epic session I've ever had...hooking well over 20 and losing count of numbers landed. All fish were in superb condition around 4-6lbs and full of fight

    Though we did not catch any trout but son was pretty keen on going fishing. Took him out to Manawatu as it's just a 10mn walk from home. He was chuffed as but I was too afraid to be there without a freshwater fishing license. It's sunny here today and he is going to pester me again for taking hm fishing so need to sort out the license asap. Another thing I don't want him to get discouraged coz of not catching anything so anyone familiar with this area please suggest where we ill have high chances of catching anything. Size species doesn't matter. We were using Mepps spinners for lures.

    There are plenty of perch in the lagoon on centennial drive, spinning the fitzherbert ave end will definitely get a perch biting
    @Inder

    Was trying to give an easy kid fishing spot but this response is about a page and a half below that post so tried tagging you

    It may or may not work

    Perch very average if eaten
