Second one for the season on the fly rod.

Pretty odd to be resorting to double nymphing down these parts but it did the trick first cast. Fish are still on the bottom of deep pools and not even remotely looking up so something with a bit of weight did the trick. Not used to using size 12 nymphs with copper wrap but there ya go. This one came home for the table.Name: 20241126_140134.jpg

Took the lad out twice this weekend.

Absolutely determined to get him his first trout where he fully retrieved it himself.

Yesterday was a real sour grape affair with a big 5lb bow spitting the hook only 12 feet from the bank with the Tassie devil.

This mornings affair we went in and spooked a deer on the way in, traversed a few steep sections and a good old 12g Toby did the damage. Quality doesn't go out of fashion that's for sure.

For once a change of luck and my lad had 3 hook ups in the space of half a hour. Back home in good time before the sun really(finally summer arrived) got out.Name: 20241201_092428.jpg

First night fish for a while.
Hard going in blustery winds but into the action once it eased off about 10.30 - hooking 10 over the next 90 minutes. Couple of 6lb beauties came home

Someone's pretty stoked with their first rainbow.

Done and dusted in 5 casts for Him.

I had to land it at the end for the lad and just aswell it did as I got it to the rocks it spat the TD but luckily I didn't fumble it.

Was it the usual culprit??? Heavily weighted nymph hitting rod mid cast?? The old bug eyes were good for this. Any chance you can beg, borrow or steal a replacement tip till repairs are made?
