Dolphinfish/mahimahi is fucking delicious. My favorite pelagic, so yum. That's a decent size one, well done, hope you get a decent hunk off it, or did you go out with "Capt" Moko?

If any of you get one of these around the boat, try and keep them in close because all there buddy's come round and you can hook two our three if you keep them in the water.
Best take the photo of them straight away as the colours go from them very fast!
As said before really really good eating just amazing, probably some of the best fish I've caught and eaten.
Good fighting fish too!!! If you can hook a couple

We took a 1/3 of it back to the hotel, got the chef to cook it, it fed 10 off us and still a massive plate left over.

Brendan from Dawn Breaker charters, small boat but he'll of a nice guy, called him on Xmas day to organise my son and I for a Boxing Day fish, landed the fish then back to the wharf, big seas. I would highly recommend him, I'll go out with him again next time I'm here.

The thing I remember most vividly when I caught my first one was the 'holy fucking shitballs' mess it made of the cockpit when it went spastic once we got it onboard. It wasn't even that big.

Back in Auckland now, was only over there 3 days.

It must have taken 500m of line, it was like winding in a bag of cement, made harder by the big seas we were in. Every now and then it would take a few meters of line back but really amazed at how spastic it went when hauled aboard.
