    Because they can't eat them . They will poison you . Next time I come I'm going to bring my light gear and have some fun off the rock breakwater . Catch and release fine with me .

    Good fish aye .That red Boat is what I'm went on . He feeds those GTs from that wharf all the fish frames . The ones l seen last night ,some would have been same size .

    I think this is the poison and it affects many species eaten here but not in the tropics because of the poison.

    Which includes pretty much any fish that puts up a good fight for its size including Kahawai,prevention is quick chilling so look after your fish always.

    Some nice fish landed today . A marlin landed by what looked like a very happy Yong teenage girl . A big Mahi Mahi by some one and a 55 kg wahoo by a spearo. I managed a 10 kg yellow fin.

    Wasn't enough time, I should have Done my theory online before I went , & Didn't factor in that our resort had 3 hrs of $10 Cocktails every Night

    Apparently the rarotongans used to use a toxin from a plant to catch their fish? Drop it over the side and pick up the fish that float to the top. Years of this practice has left residual toxins within the reef.
