Another trip to remember, out at what could be our last easy trip out of Delaware as the courts have decided that council have more sway than the public, using rate payers $$ to ban rate payers from a heritage access beach.. so fuck you Nelson City Council of cunts …

you weak bunch of fuckers who campaigned on supporting our access to get voted in……then fucking stabbed us in the back….

It will be well remembered!! By myself and others you fuckers.

Righto that said and as this is a happy place for yarns and stories …

well VC had a nasty dose of man flue and on the mend was suffering from cabin fever, so called upon me to give the boss ….hay mate how about a half day?

Well as it happened he said ok at 11 am and VC was picking me up at 12….

Out to the “Delaware ramp” , incoming tide launched and away, out to see birds and Kawahai busting up the whole bay…chasing a whitebait sized smelt/ bait fish terns and Petrals everywhere was absolutely epic,

We chose to dive the high tide slack, with a few extra marks on the sounder deciding were to start was problematic, so old faithful to start of course down to the bottom new suit , and lack of bottom time showed.. but with an extra weight in my BCD I dropped in on a sitter…poor bugger was in a tight spot and got himself in a worse spot in me catch sack..worked the turf small crays and bunchs holding tight at the back of holes …nothing out the front.

So moved marks over to another set of turf , down again grabbed another keeper and then spent the next bit of the dive scaring the keepers …”bugger me “ VC you need a better diver!

Diving done and current ebbing in full flood we set a burley and snagged a feed of carrots , Trevs and bugger me a decent snapper ..at time we were surrounded by bait birds and bust ups , no kings just huge Kawahai ..flat arse seas ,hot sun , cold beer and amazing company…
