Ended up shifting back to Perth a few months back for work. Got a good feed of Abalone on the first day of the season a couple of weeks back.

Its a limited season here in Perth, allowed 15 per person, over 1 hour between 7 and 8am period 4 Saturdays a year. But pretty cool that you can grab a feed on the doorstep of a city of 2.5mil people.

Light bash crumbed and shallow fried came up a treat.

Happy New Years everyone, definitely missing NZ and you good blokes for sure.

Windy app said light winds most of the day out the heads so headed off 8am dead flat so got out Chetwoods way 8.40 - soft baits and kabura sliders did the damage headed back in 11 am and picked up a few cod along the way (for those who prefer it). The two neighbours I had with me both caught their largest fish ever 62 and 65cm. Really satisfying to say ok lets go softbaiting for snapper and they get into it.

    Happy New Year !!

Had to nearly capsize the boat to get the pick.

Headed out to chetwoods at 8am
Windy right on the money yet again glassy all morning.
Got a nice catch of snapper etc
But caught quite a few proper sharks (they had real teeth)
    And cook straight sailfish too
Couple of neighbours turned up later in the morning- i have shared the spot with then all (one lot got 20 snaps couple of days ago released most and kept correct limit)
Went over to see how they were getting on and a great white swam round both boats - 2.5m i reckon.
Brad had a dive but no luck partner and dog waited expectantly. Ballsy after seeing the GW I would have been very reluctant even if 5 k away.
    Smoked a snapper
Just about to cook dinner nothing like fresh fish.
We are very lucky to have our wee slice of paradise
