Write a message on the bale. When we finally get a flood this bale will enter the Pacific Ocean. It is 300kms away from the sea now.

Got down to the river at 1800hrs still high but clearing. Fished for two hours and only two bites. The last hit was a rainbow, seen it drop the hook and leap out of the water. The rise started at 1900hrs. Got a fishing seminar coming up,prize is a fly rod but that would make trout fishing to easy.

Sticking to the lures at this stage.

Storm blowing off the Ruahine Ranges tonight so I went to the river. It was very cold but calm for the first time in weeks.

The ranges were covered in the storm clouds, hail and rain at the river but I got a few pics in between showers. The Ruahines are usualy visable from this location.

Trying out the new "Mitchell" reel thanks @Chris it is a solid bugger but nothing solid got anchored tonight down there.

The rise was later than usual about 2035hrs and I was home by 2100hrs but good to be back into it after shit weather for a week.

I figured seeing how you get rods smashed regularly the reel would be getting a hiding too ,Mitchell reels are what I use for fresh & salt water .Gets a bit expensive buying another reel every few months cause the japa has fallen apart or shit itself.

Does it cast & retrieve OK Mr D ?
