Are you using braid as the back bone or as trace line for your hooks ?

Sounds like it might be the mainline which I would think wouldn't be ideal. As you would know Stingray the elasticity of monofilament is a bonus when you have 2km of line out.
If you are using braid traces as well Grinny, I would try changing those to mono and make them long ( maybe 1.5m) since it maybe the thick Braid on the mainline that is scarring the fish away ?

Yeah was thinking a braid back bone at full stretch would be like juggling a knife ..very unpleasant ..would go full mono , and look at bait selection ..if you are getting Kahawai as by catch , scale and fillet of one for bait..and bleed a couple for the smoker..any way hope @Grinny comes back and gives us some feed back ...Welcome @Grinny hope we can help

With that kind of attention maybe the hooks are falling off cause not tied on properly
Do they even sell braid ones ? As you say Stingray they would be pretty tricky with no "give" in them. I'm nervous enough with my one sitting 2Km out with thick mono on

No not hard. You just need another line with 2km of line on

Looks like the OP has drowned or is just buying his fish from the shop now

Yeah Berg, I had a similar problem with my fishing kite. You can tack up to 60 degrees off the wind but still needs to be in the general direction. Fishing on the west coast there is not often easterly winds so ended up buying a seahorse Kontiki.
