    Legalitys of catching Eels.

Was thinking with the days getting shorter the kids wouldnt have to stay up too late if I was to throw a sack full of guts in the creek tied to a tree one night and we could watch the swarming/writhing mass of eels in the torch light.
And if there was a decent one hook it out with a sharp Gaff and eat it.

Would this still be legal or am I likely to end up in front of the judge?

My kids are townies, its not their fault thats where we live. Want to get them out doing some of the things I took for granted as a country kid.

Don't think it's illegal. Should be sweet in a local creek or something.

Sounds promising, anyone got a definitive answer?

Dundee sounded like a definite go for it but that cheesy thumb up smiley always looks like a pisstake one to me.

    Excellent Dundee Cheers

Highly unlikely I would be "caught" but things we used to do and whats acceptable now dont necessarily mesh and I thought I better check, rather not fuck it up.

I cannot think of a reason why you could not do that VC. Smear some smelly old guts on a couple of bits of knotted hemp rope and let the kids pull them out of the stream / river. Of course a road kill possum in the shallows and the old mans slasher probably still works like it did when I was a young fellah
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
