If they leave the scollys alone I will be happy.
Diving is good there but could be better.

Yea a good step in the right direction but if they dont keep out the commercial Scollop,Paua and Crayfishermen its not really a recreational fishing park is it?

It seems like a good move.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

They are asking for public inputs. They have not yet released all proposals, including what areas they might close entirely.

Why do the iwis don't want those reserves? Isn't it preservation of the species from the overfishing ?

When they own it you will pay a licence fee. The government has made several prior attempts to introduce sea fishing recreational fisahing licences, as occurs in OZ. $400 instant fine over there if you get caught with a surfcaster and no licence. Guess who is after the money---

MPI is fishing and you are the fish.

Personally I think weather or you pay a license fee is secondary to having healthy fish populations. I am not much of a fisherman but I would happly pay a deer hunting fee if it lead to sensible game animal management in the areas I hunt. Also once you pay, you get a say.

Fee free hunting\fishing isn't much use if there is nothing to catch.

While I agree in part, fishing and hunting is every persons right as a human being IMO not just for those that can afford it.
