Thread: Raglan, Whaingaroa Harbour Fishing Spots

Hi all. I'm not asking where everyones secret fishing spots are but where the good fishing areas are in the Whaingaroa harbour and Raglan area is for onshore fishing. Thanks

well if its the same as many harbours like it pull it up on WAMS maps aerial photos and see if you can identify where channels are close to the shore i.e you can cast into them fish an hour after low on incoming tide - try that its how I fish Mokau and how I fished Rangaunu worked

You can fish the entrance of the harbour, but honestly there are f all fish getting caught and you will more likely lose your hooks and sinkers in the rocks like everyone else trying to fish there.
Some friends had chance near the little bridge going to the campground. At on going tide that littlebit of river going under the bridge can have some descent fish specially in late summer.
