    Rat Kingis

Been up North on holiday for a week. Been jigging for kingis. Caught a couple of nice ones at my spot last week but the last couple of times have been just caching heaps of rats. Fun but ...
My question is Are the big models still there or if I'm catching rTs I'm wasting my time.
Any tips to avoid catching said rats?

If you're jigging, I don't think there is a way to avoid the smaller fish. Where are you? Should be some bigger models on offer.

It is spawning season so they could be off vortexing. Bigger models around here also head to shallower water around now, not too good for jigging but awesome for stickbaiting.

Spawning can been seen in this vid

Hmm.... interesting post, just come from dropping jigs on a reef that's known for turning up big kings, but this time over run with rats
dids some bigger ones in 15m but just too shallow to make the jigs work. These were west coast kingis.
