Stewart Island School Holiday! ( photo heavy)

Spent the first week of the holidays in North big glory hunters hut with the family, although I did hunt a little with out success thought this might be best in the fishing section, kids had an absolute blast catching 40cm cod off the rocks among other bits and piece ( biggest cod was 47cm to the 6 yr old. . ). The 8 yr old was delighted with our 1st and only trumpeter. I caught a few on the fly to keep it interesting and the local wild life provided the rest of the entertainment.

The better half/ chef/ photographer made sure we ate like kings and had lasting memories. Had unbelievable luck with the weather and best thing is they are all talking about “when we go back”.

What a great thing to do with your kids! The memories from a trip like this are priceless beyond belief!

Awesome! Our family did two trips to the island and the kids were little, Abrahams bay and Little Glory. The kids loved it, although having a great white swim under the tinny that was longer than the tinny kept me out of the water.

Awesome. Stewart Island is definitely on my Bucket List.

Thanks guys, yep great memories for sure and we’ll be back , it’s what I love so I count myself lucky the wife and kids love it too . The fishing bug is strong in our family I’ve been fishing all my life but only hunting for the last 10 so far the 8 yr old has a bigger trout and now trumpeter than me …. And has no worries reminding me. .
