Epic day ..na even better than that ..got down the island had to wait for the flood in the pass ..so vcjr set the tone for the day with a solid 4lbs snapper..keith did the same by slaying spotties one after another on a 7/0 hook

Caught some more brim ...got scorned by the skipper for tossing keepers back ...banter went next level ..you were scorned if you kept a fish or chucked it back ...

Tried jigging the north side of the pass ...saw one kingi boated ...tide turned flood pushed we search the banks and areas for fish ..krill were there again but nothing marking..an hour and half went by 6 boats jigging not a fish seen ..

Plan B cray diving ...the collective brains trust chose a mark ..bombed it ..took a while but got onto a handful ..barstard of a spot to get some out of, managed two ..got picked up by the boat to find the skipper had being busy with two nice snaps resting in the ice slurry .

Tried to an anchor on the mark ..not ideal with a cod invasion ...go out wide get some current VC advised ...nothing then spikies saw VC getting heckled.

Made the big move call to head for 40m that produced fish mid week for me ma n da ...burley down ..baits down...waiting waiting waiting , error error ..bang the spottie slayer turns snapper snatcher...then a few carrots , then just most of caught something respectable ...except some one was hogging the burley pot .

So after eviction from his preferred spot he continued to slay fish ...seemed it was his day , as he managed to wrangle a 15lb kingi on a dirty old piece squid @Shearer, no jigs required .

Weather was amazing went from slight to oily calm back to mild , company was simply fantastic , young folk fished ate and ate, napped, fished and were helpful as possible ...other shared an amazing day

Huge huge thank you to ScreamO..for talking us away sharing his boat ,company and humour with us ..to the rest of the folks young and middle aged thank you as well for the bullying yarns and amazing company ..

Young fella has just crawled out of bed about an hour ago, he is still worn out. But he can't stop talking about his day.
A great day out, several flavours of fish landed, a few flavours thrown back, mainly my 7 or 8 spotties, a couple of barracuda and a few sharky fella's.
It was neat watching all the boats at the pass hounding the ol king fish, sadly it didn't appear that many of the boats had any luck. We only saw one boat land a fish.
I started to feel a bit confused around mid afternoon as my shipmates began giving me grief about my fishing. Comments about hogging the burley pot, etc. etc.
Late afternoon with a 7/0 hook and a well dunked piece of squid hanging of some 40lb line I got a solid hook up that just sat as I tried to wind it in, you've got a big shark come the comments, then it runs a bit and gives a bit of a fight, shit no, that might be a big snapper, take your time.
It peeled of line, I pulled it back, peel off wind in, repeat, 10 min later we see some colour and the guessing game begins, Cuda, Snapper, Shark... then Joe sees some green and I'm sure a naughty word slipped out of his mouth, you've got a bloody kingy, dont you bloody lose it.
In the net and landed, Joe jumps out the back of the boat and starts to gut it, bugger me a second kingy comes up chasing his mates entrails. All the lads get lures in the water and burley was dropped to keep the kingy around. Screamo got a strike or two but no one was successful unfortunately.
Cams workmate had a few firsts landing some nice fish, I think he had a blast.
Thanks a lot everyone for a great day out. Thanks especially to Screamo for taking us all out and putting up with us.
I didn't get many photos sorry.

Not much to add really, big day on the water.
Bloody good fun, the skipper got to give a fair bit of shit (which he enjoyed a grate deal), the young ones done well for a big day... @ROKTOY only JUST claimed the fisherman of the day. @stingray with a monster Cray... @veitnamcam well I'm not sure what he brought to the table oh that's right the bacon.
Haven't stopped talking about the trip, good barstards all around and fair bit of banter...looking forward to the next one, cheers fellers.
