Snapper fishing in Kenepuru you soon learn to hate bloody stingrays.

Late to the party but I thought someone might like another idea. Tend to run off 24v for a bit more grunt but works ok on 12v. Reversible switch if it jams up.

looking at the last picture I was automatically reminded of a lathe........ now there is a grunty motor with gearing ect already sorted...just have to work out how to hold body of mincer in correct position and put the drive shaft in the chuck..... surprised nobody has set one up off cordless drill, they are super grunty these days, dead easy to reverse it too....

I have always thought that this was the best re-purposed burley maker https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&rc...H8rDOxkJLjpPxX

Took a pump action rock fishing once.
Made berley with it, some by-catch in a rock pool at the waters edge...

The local campground was probably wondering what the noise was all about!

Once again bringing up this thread..

This is what I ended up buying and could not be happier, whole salmon heads and frames, big kahawai frames with heads attached, fillets off the big kahawai (skin off is best), whole baby kahawai, whole big jack macks , mussels . the machine eats it all with absolute ease. Small fish like big jack macks you could not feed them into the machine quick enough.
Super easy to clean esp if you own a labrador dog..

It does need 98 octane fuel.

When I was a kid our local Fish & Chip shop (Whakatane) got busted selling scallop meat that was actually ray wings and using steamed ray to bulk out the whitebait fritters. When cut right the ray wings separate into the fibres look a lit like whitebait minus the eyes.

I met a guy up north that was doing repairs to a longline boats freezer. They had to dump all the contents (bait etc) so he got a mate to bring a trailer and he hired a woodchipper on the way home, They chipped straight into a tarp lined trailer then buckets and freezer. A quick clean and feed a few branches through it then return the chipper. Needless to say he's banned from that hire centre.
