Some of my old trout fishing pics

Was just sifting through photobucket and came across a few pics from when I got back into trout fishing for a short time, still like trout fishing but just don't like eating them unless smoked so I am strictly catch and release and keep one for the smoker when I do.

Lake Atiamuri opening day 2010, caught this nice brown and was my first brown, used a black and gold toby for this fish and caught and released another 7 that day

    Hamurana stream, Rotorua

My first trout from Lake Rotorua on a fly and one the first flies that I tied of all things

and this is the gaudy looking thing that did the damage caught and released another 4 fish on that fly that day before it fell apart

Are you fishing just above the dam? Haven't tried there but have seen them fishing in the river below the dam, that looks challenging from the top

Yeah I was fishing from the boat ramp got a thing about fishing below spillways and the spill way was running that day I was there so the current created by teh gates being open made for good fishing, gonna have to get another flyrod one day and hit the awahou again with another of my homemade variegated indestructo buggers with the secret trigger material under the tail but first things first I got to get that new rifle so I can scratch the trigger finger.
