    Another vote for NZ strike indicator tool. Prior to using it I would buy polyester rovings from spotlight and spray with aerosol silicone, keep in a ziplock bag. slide a tuft into the loop-loop connection between fly line and leader. Cheap and easy but you can't slide it up and down the leader like the NZ strike indicator. The only bad thing about the nz strike indicator is the tube is pretty fine so you can't slide the indicator right up to the butt of the leader super close to the flyline/leader junction or past any big knots.
