They certainly got dragged to a few rivers and untangled a few knots but mainly helped with gaining contacts and teeing up adventures. There’s some cracking spots up your way. “HB born” lad here.. cheers
Yea agreed,...sounds like our family. It's nice when kids find their own passions and not their parents thats when you know they actually like something and not just doing what dad does....this forum has also been so helpful. Send me a pm and we will sort out postage etc.

@VXN222 my eldest (8yro) would love a few flys to start his own box, caught his 1st on the fly in feb with more luck than judgement as I’m a self taught fluff chucker myself who spends more time hooked up on my back cast than anything and especially when I sight a feeding fish it seems. but we do get the odd success for our persistence or by reverting back to the lure gear.

Awesome mate! Good on ya for sticking at it! Took me years to get the first on fly. The best I learnt was getting that session with the old boy. He taught me how to read the river and understand where the fish should be. From this I basically moved from fishing unsuccessfully blind to sight fishing (or casting in the likely spots with an indicator) The next challenge.. not spooking the bloody buggers. From here came success in various forms. Highly recommended walking and spotting fish even if the river is closed etc in off season. Save the lure fishing for the windy rubbish days!! We”lol sort something for the young fella!

And to the bait fisherman.. who has used the above method with size 14-16 grub hook and a kettle of corn.. lot of baits per can of corn pieces. If allowable in your catchment. Just double check but goes well.

I recently got given a fly rod by an elderly resident at work. The lad and I had a bit of a fumble with it out on the school field over lockdown, Lad seemed to be doing ok, according to my professional Youtube knowledge. Me, not so much, I think I will stick to the spin rod.
I'm looking forward to a free weekend soon so we can go have a play at one of the local lakes. Hopefully I'll get shown up.
A fantastic offer you have made here @VXN222, hopefully it helps get a few more kids, young and old, out there catching.

Cheers @Tedz50 pleased these arrived for you for. Was able to sneak them down to a friends place where the courier would collect them. Hence the random name/shitty packaging sorry Scotty was in a rush haha. To those of you who’ve made contact, I’m waiting to get to post office as the courier collection service to my property/island to island freight seems through the roof atm. Cheers TR.
