Most of a trouts diet is made up of Nymphs. As soon as you get to the river look under stones in the shallows.
Deleatidium is very common, free living caddis also. What is under the rocks is what needs to be imitated
Match the size of your nymph to the size of the natural - in most cases this means sz 16.
At this time of year trout can be feeding on Cicadas, they will also take a larger terrestrial like a Black Knat or Cochy Bondu as a prospecting dry fly.
