    Whitianga launching charges

If you are heading this way for an Xmas fish, you should be aware of this.

On the plus side though, the main ramp in town now has a double sided pontoon and has been fixed up, so at least you get something for youre money this time.

Agreed TSK. Last time they tried it on without doing any repairs etc and it got canned due to complaints.

Thames council are a crock of shite in my opinion. They seem to be doing everything in their power to make peoplke want to stay away from Coromandel.
As far as I am aware they dont have wofs on their agenda though, or even within their powers. Thats the cops dept. surely.
The charges are to park your vehicle with boat trailer in designated areas only, so you could still get around it by taking trailer home once you launch. Big pain in the arrse though

Good question GA. I havent seen or heard anything about the other ramps. Think it is only the main town ramp in whiti, as they just spent some money on it. I will try and find out asap.

Kinloch will be over $300 to launch for the year coming, trouble with Taupo if it comes up you need a safe haven to retrieve from. About $20 per day
