Whos keen to fish on the Mussel barge in the coromandel.

    Hi boys and girls,

I'm thinking of booking a trip on the mussel barge in the coromandel. Could be a good way for us to meet each other and have a fun day out on the water, was thinking late January early February. Get in touch if your keen and we can sort out dates.

Ps. Has anyone been on out with these guys ? Mussel Barge Snapper Safaris - Fishing Charters Coromandel, was it a sucessful trip?

    Regards
    Dean

Pretty sure thats the charter my mate goes on ,around $70 for the day. Seems a bit expensive & last time nothing much over 33cm but his limit worked out with bait & travel at $12 per fish . Snapper that size I'd be thinking about throwing then back .

Been on these a few times, good day with group of guys, fishing varies from poor to real good. Depends on the skil of the fisherman. Soft baits are good if you cast away from the barge, not so many fish but better qual. I've seen some big snapper caught by those that know what they are doin. I'd be a starter and happy to take some guys from Tga for contribution to some diesel

i went out for the day with them. seemed ok but the fishing was very poor on the day. weather was also cold and yuck. but hey thats the luck of the draw. was good sevice. i went out of kaikoura on a fishing charter. that was excellent. the cray pots went overboard on way out. had a fish got heaps. picked up pots on way back. everyone went home with two crays each, and all the fish was filleted and put in plastic bags ready to pick up as you walked off the boat. outstanding service and too much fresh fish and crays!!!

Last time I went on the barges there were 21 people and we all took home the limit.another day up there I caught 1 fish all day. They supplied all bait in the cost.
