Would anyone be keen on doing a forum surfcasting weekend

Been thinking this over for a while and thought wouldn't it be good to have a forum surfcasting weekend, would be ideal for the spring or summertime when the weather warms up a bit. Would anyone be keen to do something like this for a change would be good to have a few forum landbased fishing weekends as a bit of a different pace to forum hunting trips. I say landbased as it is a cheaper alternative to boat fishing as not everyone can afford to pay to go on a boat plus numbers would not be so restrictive for landbased fishing trips.

90 mile beach? Can stay up at Ahipara for next to nothing and head north or just fish there?

My train of thought was hold them around the bay of plenty such as Waihi, Pikowai, matata, Pukehina, Otamarakau etc for east coast and Ocean Beach (Kawhia) Ruapuke etc for west coast but have members from different areas organize them as they would have good knowledge of the area and the south Islanders could do the same I for one would love to have a go at surf casting down south as well as having a go at salmon fishing as well as fishing west and east coast beaches further towards the cook strait as I have never fished any further south than Ohope beach. The upside is forum landbased fishing weekends can have family involvement too so the kids can get out there for a bit of fun too.

Would give me a good excuse with the ex-wife to have my son for a weekend too without her new husband being a dick about it if I headed down to nelson for a fish.

A north islander coming south to go surfcasting would be like a west coaster going north to go white baiting

Give me the river any day,but hopefully next winter we will catch up with Chris again as our first surfcasting lessons from him were memorable for the family.

Saltwater fishing is like a box of chocolates dundee you never know what you are gonna get that is why I enjoy it more than freshwater even though I have a soft spot for trout fishing I enjoy the fight but I let em go as I am not much of a fan of trout when it comes to eating it.
