It's not your Mac - its the site you are trying to access.

Your Mac is telling you that when it tries to establish a private connection to the site, the site is not responding correctly.

If you can install Opera, you can install Chrome for Mac.

If your Mac is really so old, as to be running tech from last decade, get a new Mac.

Do you think that you should be able to stream Netflix on an old black and white CRT TV?

I keep several Macs that are 12~15 yrs old running

Also one that is a 12" G4, 19 yr old laptop, that runs all sorts of non standard system stuff - on the basis that hackers these days, won't have the institutional knowledge, they're all 12, to hack or crack it, I use it for travel.

Whilst there are enthusiasts that could fix "pope..." s problem, looking for "any computer guy", on a hunting board, is no substitute for asking Dr Google with details like make, model, error message, et al.

Sometimes you gotta learn how to use your own stuff.

    Here's what Mr Bard says:

Sure, I can help you with that. Here are some things you can try to fix the "Your connection is not private" error on your Mac:
    1. Reload the page. This is often the simplest way to fix the error.
    2. Try a different browser. If the error persists in one browser, try using a different one, such as Chrome or Firefox.
    3. Clear your browser's cache and cookies. This can sometimes fix the error by clearing out old and corrupted data.
    4. Check your computer's date and time settings. If your computer's date and time are incorrect, this can cause the error.
    5. Disable your antivirus or firewall. Sometimes, antivirus or firewall software can interfere with secure connections and cause the error.
    6. Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. If you're using a public Wi-Fi network, the error could be caused by a problem with the network.
    7. Update your macOS. Outdated software can sometimes cause security errors.
If you've tried all of these steps and the error is still occurring, you can try the following advanced troubleshooting steps:
    1. Clear the SSL state on your computer. This will reset the security certificates on your computer.
    2. Change your DNS servers. Your DNS servers are responsible for translating website addresses into IP addresses. Changing your DNS servers can sometimes fix the error.
    3. Reset your network settings. This will reset all of your network settings, including your Wi-Fi passwords.
If you've tried all of these steps and the error is still occurring, you may need to take your Mac to a technician for further assistance.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind:
    • The "Your connection is not private" error can occur if you're trying to visit a website that uses an insecure connection. This could be a website that's not using HTTPS, or a website that has an expired or invalid SSL certificate.
    • The error can also occur if there's a problem with your internet connection. Make sure you're connected to a strong and stable internet connection.
    • If you're still having trouble, you can contact the website's administrator for help. They may be able to troubleshoot the issue and fix the problem.
    I hope this helps!
