I'm always up for discussing casting etc . . . just start a thread ( as you have ) and see what happens, if its of interest people will take part . . or not.

So what are thinking about at the moment ?

Start a thread in reloading. Not making another new subforum that will get 1 post every three years

to prove i am always ready to talk casting anytime, anywhere . . about to cast up some of these for my .45Colt.

    LEE 230 grain . . a gem of a mold and design.
its really designed for the likes of the .45ACP but works really well in my leveraction Rossi.
theres better more aggressive heavier bullets out there for hunting but it works good enough to get the job done on the likes of Goats, Fallow at close range.
bullets just drop out of the mold and the bevel on the base makes loading a breeze.
molds are LEE cheap to buy . . its all good news for this bullet.

    A Lee 405 grainer
I'm not home for the model
But it's a nice blunt nose and a good weight for the RRB 1873 project
It should hut like a sledge hammer

There's a little bit of tin in there And they are a bit hard but going through a brand new Vulcan barrel
I'm hopeful they will be all that I need in that 45-70 out to 200m

have you got any other .45 cal molds ?
with a Fat barrel and a strong action like that i would be hatching plans to shoot a lot further than 200 on paper/steel and animals, what a great project to get into . . lucky rascal.
i would put a rail on the barrel and a dialup mildot scope ontop n get some solid shooting sticks . . . a purist would have a heart attack with my wish list, anyway . . well done @akaroa1, hope to see lots of updates on your progress.

ya never know,, there could be a section on cast in the future if enough members get envolved
