I sent the permit off before the goods arrived but left out one piece of info, seem you need to send a copy of your firearms licence as well

FAL? What does a permit to import prove then? A licence is not required to purchase any of those parts if they are already in nz?

Customs Question - My 1st time importing firearm parts

Says so on the letter customs sends you. Just got mine for bringing in a couple of 30rd mags. They request original import permit and a copy of FAL as item is "subject to restrictions under the Arms Act 1983 and a permit to import under the act may need to be submitted to customs for endorsement"
They go on after and mention that if the item is intended to be used for an A cat weapon to contact Customs. And be in the shit I assume. Or be educated.
The arms officer seems amicable and profession via email communications.

Just got my Import Permit back from NZ Customs Stamped and Dated, still waiting for the goods to arrive. Just surprised that the letter arrive before the goods. Not sure if I'm meant to do anything with the this import permit that I got back from Customs?.
