Not a perfect solution but may help.
Anyway thanks @Admin for your efforts this morning, I’m sure you had better things to do.
    Betcha they didn’t…they were lockdowned…level 4 isn’t it….??

"Since it seems to be a single spammer each time , and they appear to be SE Asian in origin - can the mods not delete all members from That part of the world? You must have isp details to each membership application , and asian names are a bit of a giveaway."
@muzza That will achieve absolutely nothing ,this is a auto Spam Bot ie someone paid to advertise/spread a message using a automatic "remote , hands off" computer program .All of these types of "attacks" will use VPN type functions to simply change their "locations" and IP address & they can set it to your address if they wanted to .
This type of IP manipulation/country of origin disguise is done by everyone from kids trying to hack/troll sites from home to international espionage ie China hiding its US hacking on Russian IP locators ,no hacker of any worth will make such a basic mistake, especially not State sponsored entities .

The easiest way to counter/ stop them is to set up word recognition that will auto block ie in this case what they are trying to advertise .The worst thing that happens is morons ignore the first rule of the internet which is do not feed the trolls ,as soon as people react/answer the Bot it ups its attempts to breach as it computes it as having found a site that it is successfully spreading the message it is paid for with each hit .

Through no fault of anyone my guess (by the SNAFU pic posting system) is we are on a very out dated system ,so this makes the site a easy target with these types of attacks .

While l am on it ,thanks to the @Admin team for the great job they do for our community it is not easy & largely thankless ,but IMO this is one of the best as far as "community feel ". :So THANK YOU thumbsup:

Bunji ... thanks for taking the time to tap out the simply but annoying truth. Its a bot.

This forum needs some form of 'I am not a robot' protection at signup. Alternatively newly signed up members can only post in a specific 'new members' sub forum until their account is manually approved for general mayhem (which would kill two birds with one stone)

A good idea and just to add to it a bit think of this sub forum like an island the Aussies send all the Kiwis to who can't behave themselves.
All new members start there until they can prove they are worthy and anyone caught talking too much shit on the main forum also gets outcast to the sub forum until they learn to behave themselves.

Maybe even a 3 strike system and off you go, once you have done a period of good behaviour you can come back.
That may thin out one or two ha ha

I am honestly taken aback by the amount of shite talked here.

Perhaps @Admin could explain why this happened, and if the user/pass log was comprimised, as you know, people often use the same password.

    Just saying.

Some random person or bot signed up and started posting spam. Not hacked or anything. This is all. It happens. Will happen again. Just ignore it and admin will notice and block the person and delete the posts.

It really is in the realm of who cares. Spammers be spammers.

Spammers and bots can't hijack posts without access to the database, they can post, with no edit function for other posts.

Since they have edited posts, I suggest you change your password, and any that are the same, but yet again @Admin can correct me. Is our data safe @Admin?

They haven't hijacked anything or edited any posts?
This whole threads seems a bit hysterical. Welcome to the internet?
