[Film] "Long Range" with a .22lr

Setting my 10/22 up for "long range". Didn't get very far out this and my shooting was shiiiit, will be looking to improve this in future

Nice one dude. Do you get enough feedback from the plate at the shooting position without the corrugated iron behind to confirm a hit, say at 250m? Also what ammo were you using?
Love your style of shooting, no dicking around.

Now I need a dial up scope for my 22

There isn't a lot of impact signature when you get out farther. Stay tuned for Part Two... (Wherein I actually pay some small amount of attention to my shooting)

    Using CCI subsonic.

I sort of have my Marlin XT set up for this, I just need to find some ammo that has consistent speed. All the run of the mill shit won't group worth a damn at 100m, so I would say it is next to useless beyond say 150m. I might buy some Lapua to try but it starts to erode the idea of a .22 trainer when you are paying the same price as .223 ammo...

It is awesome fun regardless, even if you are just trying to hit steel plates out far with terrible "value pack" type ammo.

If the weather god smiles on me I'll give it a jam on Friday. I have a steel rod with 3", 6" and 10" round 16mm Bis for a know your limits type setup. Should work mint for a 22lr at range.

Be careful, 16mm bis is a bit light for the 22lr at those ranges.

Shit yeah, I'm hoping it doesn't blow holes straight through it. Will take my chances.

i had my ten year old and his mate on two cz's banging a six inch plate from 200yds as i was doing some range work.the little shits found the ammo tin and managed to go through 300 mini mag rounds while i was busy trying to dong the thousand!
the czs group around moa pretty consistently with the minimag and at $60 a brick pretty cheap.
    good fun i reckon!

It's sweet and all but that's a lot of money to spend on a 22 that groups average.
Kiwi shooters using a JW15 shorty, EM332 or Marlin 60 will outshoot it for a fraction of the price.
I've shot summer rabbits over 160m with my JW15 and subs. Cost me $200 and a $150 scope with mildots & ballistic app on my android phone. Compare that to a heap of money spent on a 10/22 upgrade and a nice expensive leupold.

-The barrel was like 300 bucks, who gives a shit?
    -I did it because I already had a 10/22.
-I'm not recommending that anyone buy a 10/22
-Academic better accuracy isn't the only thing to consider in a gun if it produces functional accuracy
-It shoots a lot better than shown in the video if I shoot well. Which I wasn't. If I was real concerned about how well my gun shoots I wouldn't have posted a video with real bad groups but hey that's real life, sometimes you have a shit day
