Aiden, if you are on FacePlant, head over to both the Taihape and Manawatu deerstalkers pages.
Also check out the Gillice Practical Rifle Events page (not really geared for beginners, but great events)
Head on up to the Toby shoot in Onga Onga - you'd be hard pressed to find a better long range venue.
Other than that, if you are a member of the Hutt deerstalkers, keep and eye out for the annual long range shoot in Wairarapa. We've just had that a month or so ago, so will be a while before the next one.

Taranaki Sports Shooters Association have just finalized our next shoot.
It’s time to get shooting events back on track and what better way is with a good old fashion gong shoot!
Date. Sunday 16th June.
Location Ahatiti: Approx 1 hr North of New Plymouth. Or just over 2 hours south from Hamilton.
We are lucky enough to be able to use the Ahititi property so that means 1,600 meters of distance that will have plenty of steel targets set at various distances and even a few up close for you guys with iron sights ect.
Cost for the day will be $30 for non club members and free for current financial TSSA members. Lunch will be provided as per normal..(no vegan option sorry)
Safety briefing will be at 9am sharp, do not miss this or you will not be shooting on the day.
Camping on the Saturday night will quite possibly be an option but we will need to confirm this with the land owner.
Flick me a PM if you want to come along.

Is that every Saturday or is it at a specific date?

It was only just finalized a few hours ago. We have a few regulars come up from Wellington. Camping overnight would make the trip alot easier.

How many rounds does one need for this shoot?
As many as you like....
It's just an informal shoot......
I normally have a fee rifles that I take along and try and extend my range with them.
