    Anyone shooting 5.45 x 39?

Did a search on the forum, but nothing came back

I saw an advertisement on this site for Kalashnikov rifles being sold by Republic Arms in Wanganui. I see they have 5.45 x 39 as one of the chamberings.

There's basically no ammo in the country. Mate of mine has one of the 5.45 saigas and score 1000 round pack of hornady 60gr V max. I gotta say that the recoil is ridiculously non existent for an AK. He has a Lantac dragon on the end of it. A shipment of Barnaul ammo is due in sept. I'd love to build one into an 80's era '74 with laminate furniture and bake lite mags

You are a man of impeccable taste.

But yeah, the main thing holding me back on the purchase of one of those is the ammo supply.

I looked at ammo specs and figured better off with .223 so why bother with the hassle.
