Make sure in peeferences that you have distance units set in yards and all other box ticked for imperial.
Turn of zero atmosphere and also in preferences turn on basic.
Ive tried to fuck up my ab with whats happened to yours and the only way to do that was to change preference to metres and that auto changed my 200 yd zero to 183 m so when I went to trajectory and that was in meters and I looked at 200m it was giving me +1 which was 17m extra distance.
    A bit hard to explain
Im on android and your on Apple so could be a fuck up.

thanks mate, tried all this and still the same reading. even starting afresh and entering a new 'ammo' in case it was an issue starting with metric first then switching to imperial (pretty sure i didn't this tho)

BOOM! nailed it Chicken! well done - when i put in 0 wind it brings it back to 0.0 at 200y

any idea why it is impacting the trajectory this much at 200y??? wind was set at 10mph at 90 degree angle. would be interested to hear the technical reason if someone can explain it

thanks very much for all your help guys, particularly stug, Kooza, andyanimal31 - a real time waster this one!

Wind from any direction has a vertical and horizontal effect, not just horizontal as you would think.

Projectile rpm in flight plus wind has an effect as well, but only minor as you have discovered

chicken i tried the aerodynamic jump video and found it tough work to understand and to be honest, gave up. will have another crack and try harder to digest it

7mmsaum, yeah a small difference at 200y but at longer ranges (which i won't be pushing to) it seems that it would have quite a significant effect. good to get my head around it...

Projectiles usually spin to the right, so wind is from the right the spinning causes the projectile to "climb" up over the wind. Wind from the left will cause the projectile to "roll" under the wind.

My shooter app is shit then, I put in 99MPH to 1MPH at any distance from 90 degrees and its still saying no additional elevation

Its still a good app Gibo, its just not detailed enough to give you all those small corrections that in the real world just get lost in the "noise" of wind and temperature variances.

    For example

Do apps correct for air pressure changes for angled shots.....

Some fine fine details are just not practically required by hunters as the kill zone on a deer is 4 inches either side of your aimpoint at 1000yrds.
