Rain stayed away mostly. A few lessons in suitable cars and muddy tracks for some!
Plus some awesome shooting from forum members.

The Swift made it out, @Ryan just kept it on redline and did Marcus Gronholm impression on the steering wheel and it found its own way through the mud.

Gotta say, great turnout from the CNIGC guys, always good sports. A few WSRA guys also made the trip, that's a long drive for a regional SR match! I feel the sport is getting a better and better turnout each time up here. It is amazing how many people think they can't compete with an A cat rifle and without fancy shit - if you are wondering what's it's like but don't have the gear or know anyone involved, but you want to give it a try, give me a yell and we'll sort you a rifle for the day. It's bloody good fun

No need for fancy optics either. A certain forum member is kicking arse with irons.

Waiuku Winter Series Irons challenge again this year? It's a short hundy (90m) and is perfect for this. AK/AR/SLR/M1/M14 etc etc it matters not. What matters is the steak dinner prize and cowshit on your gear. Gotta be standard irons, best 3 of 4 shoots (we could negotiate a 2/4, people are busy) Thoughts?

Would be down like a clown but can't always guarantee attendance due to other commitments.

Best off all we all stayed dry! Luckily the predicted rain stayed just the other side of the hills. Thanks to Grant for the 4x4 lift, was not going to temp fate and take the Mrs conquest down the slippery ditch. Has a couple of silly misses in the morning, and ran out of time on the turnaround stage in the afternoon. Really enjoyed the CQB stage

@ebf certainly knows his way around a rifle. Very good score, especially with iron sights.

Cheers gents, well worth the long drive, very good prep for Nationals next weekend. First time I shot service rifle at anything beyond 200yds, so good to know the sight picture and corrections all worked

Big thanks to Grunzter and the ASRA crew for putting on another great shoot. Good to put a few forum names to faces. Still feeling a bit wrecked from getting home this morning at 2:30am after driving back down the Island. @ebf , hope you found a place to dry the tent for the night

All in all a great weekend and a great learning experiance.
