Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
What a great day,
Standing Static target practice to get us on song, damn hard.
Then a simulated charge using balloon at various closing distances from 60 yards to 10, shooting and reloading and shooting and reloading as fast as you can, definitely harder than it sounds what with short stroking and missing, 5 shots 5 balloons, the pressure keeps mounting .
Running Buffalo, same story, begins with having to shoot the plate/ clip to get it started then it runs on a flying fox type arrangement on a wire running left to right, pressure mounts again and not many got a full mag off though some did.
Then a favorite from last year, the charging lion, great fun , even the cocky got involved in that one. Lion had some very close shaves and a couple of haircuts but also some unsurvivable hits
The Bush hunt - Leopard, Antelope, Buffalo, Zebra and Warthog hidden in the brush, one shot at each each, miss and your done, onto the next one.
lets just say not all of us would have to pay trophy fees.
Finishing off with the Big bore long range shoot, gongs at 245 yards, i did notice some smaller flatter shooting calibers made an appearance then, but the big guys also held their own.
Thanks to @southernman, @Harryg, @stug, @Tentman, @oraki, @Fireflite, and John for their excellent company during what was a marvelous day.
Acknowledgement has to be made to stug and Harryg for the entertaining ideas they come up with, Southernman for travelling over 8 thousand miles to attend, Tentman for explaining to me about his lead bullets, Fireflite for being the caretaker of my Precious, Oraki for turning up with his .729 caliber which made nice BIG surgical holes in anything he chose to hit and also John for once again allowing us to tear up a part of his dirt in the name of good company and outright fun.

Another great weekend. Thanks to Harryg and stug for organizing the event, setting up the targets etc. The flying target was next level. The tenderized shoulders were the only complaints, all eyebrows stayed intact this year. Good to catch up with some, and put another face to a name.
The wife reckoned I stunk of sheep. Well we were based in a shearing shed, but there was no sharing happening, we all had our own

Sounds like a fun day with some heavy kickers.
Dang wish id spotted this earlier would have come over for a nosie next year I supose
Cheers guys, it wasa great weekend with great company. Got a year to think about other targets now.
I should have the 416 back soon so maybe next year
If I got some reloading gear sorted I'd do some less authoritative loads for the speed work.
Maybe a little cheaper on the pocket as well if I could source some cheaper projectiles.
damn this sounds like good fun ! might have to try make it some time, as far as big bore iv got a 450 marlin converted jungle carbine, .375 h&h and a .460 weatherby mag as well as the smaller stuff .308 8mm etc etc . with hopefully soon to be added .416 rigby and a .458 express.
Shit who was that demon at 1:13 in the video? Mean shot!!
That was @southernman
