A valid point cheers. Other thing is with a thumbhole it's going to LEFTIES ONLY RIFLE which has its benefits but is a little anti social if I end up sharing....

Maybe you need a thumbhole stock on a dpt chassis? :-)
The best of both worlds !

Any comment on the DPT hunter chassis? looks like it gives a hilariously poor cheek weld.

Looks like you'd definitely want a cheek riser of some sort. Haven't touched or seen one in person though.

I don't like the weightiness and one-size-fits-none ergonomics of thumbholes

Havent heard from anyone that has used one yet! Cheek weld is only a pair of jandles or a kitchen sponge away from being sorted

I have had several botds in the past and have a couple still. I like the Boyds and at the prices they used to be, they were good value (landed here around the $200 mark.) if not a little on the heavy side. Now with all the additional hassle I would lean towards the DPT. I rather like the look of them. If stretching to the DPT price, it is not much more to look at GRS which make Boyds look like slices of cheap plywood.

If you can find someone in the US to ship you a stock you could look at Richards Microfit stocks. Only downside to them is they have made the decision that they will not ship outside US so you need to order it to a US address. Drop shipping like youshop will not work either.

Considered an MDT lss? Comes in left. Super lite. Canada ships here. Use Lockhart tactical. Mine was opened by customs but didn't pick up for gst as they don't put price on pack.

I just took those pictures today to compare the height of the cheek rest on a DPT chassis versus a factory tikka stock:

    The two stock aligned .

DPT tube stock is 5 mm higher than tikka factory stock.
