If we need to range a target at an unknown distance, we have to speak MOA.
This statement is incorrect. Linear distance/range is measured in a linear unit not an angular unit.

Other than that I do use MOA sort of, ... the conversion is not quite that easy when the ranges round here are in metric so 25m, 50m, 200m etc. I suspect a lot of the confusion comes from the fact that the unit symbol for MOA is the same as for Inches.

Actually... ' can be minutes or feet, " can be seconds or inches.

You're right there, it's been too long since I used the old tables. Actually that would be a good thing.

If you miss a deer by an inch, you may as well have missed it by a mile...group sizes mean squat, if they don't take out the bull.

The main reason women have such trouble with inches I think is that they are constantly told 4-6 inches is actually 9-12 inches

Well the Yanks converted to metrics to get man on the moon, then converted back to imperial measurements with the results. Trying to do the calculations in imperial was too much of a nightmare and the metric system is more consistent.

It's OK! They measured everything in imperial and drove everything in imperial. Just that tricky rocket science bit in the middle they had to admit defeat. Particularly when you when you think where they got most of the technology and brains from.

yea it is good to understand basic metric and imperial measurements and how to convert them. and as long as america is the biggest in the gun department imperial will be here to stay .

1 MOA at 100 yards ( 91 meters ) i believe is 1.047" so basically 1 inch for hunting purposes.
