Thread: Gun Club - Rocky River Road, Motueka Valley

Seen on the Topo Maps a 'Gun Club' down Rocky River Road in the Motueka Valley.



Does anyone know if this is still in operation and what can be used?

Moving to the region in the next few months, curious what ranges and quality of hunting within the area?

I used to go and shoot there a bit about 15 years ago or more, pretty sure it's well and truly closed now days.

The Motueka Pistol club used to operate up the Rocky River years ago and have since relocated.
Deer Stalkers are up the Maitai in Nelson.
There is a range at Golden Downs.
There is one each at Cable Bay and Whangamoa which I believe can be used by arrangement.
Lots of options depending on where you end up settling in the area.

As far as hunting goes, the Nelson/Tasman region is great. Good hunting and animal numbers right on your doorstep.

Family has just bought a property down Motueka River West Bank Road, but it will probably be another 6-12 months before we get anything built.
