Me thinks it so bloody refreshing to see a bloke using an old Husky in an old, but oh so legendary calibre, with wooden stock of a shape I recognise as a stock, with a non dailing, no fiddley twiddly parallax knob scope. The only two accessories seen here are two bits of leci tape, one black, one yellow. Very practical, very refreshing. Just my 2 pence worth.

I have had three of them, and still have another one now. The following load they all shot very well:

180 Sierra SP or a Hornady 180 round nose bullet, with 57.5 grains of 2209, any brass any decent primer. Seated just off the lands. If there is nothing wrong with the rifle, it will shoot these bullets and load well or better I reckon.

It's a standard load I have used in several .30/06's and some of them have been Husqvarnas. I have done so much shooting with .30/06's I don't do load work ups any more

Depending on the rifle and how old your 2209 powder is, it will give you between 2650 and 2800 fps.

The 3006 is a pretty unfussy cartridge loaded short, long, fast or slow with heavy or light projectiles it seems quite happy.

Qn. What is your best/favourite load for xyz?
Answer. Don't ask for favourite loads on the internet or face ache.
    Check with the powder manufacturer.

Thanks for that, very useful. Guess what you get when you check with the powder manufacturer. You're getting their favourite loads in an individual rifle. Off the internet.

Yeah that’s a good point you’re not wrong 👍 I’ll get down to the range next month and will see how I get on. Cheers
