Larrygoat...... the "other rifle" being a tikka 243...... next time your at loose end and have time on range..try a slow 2 shot group x5 on same target... 2 now...2 in 10 minutes sort of deal...it may surprise you.

Well done, Barnards are good actions and Hart barrels are top class also and Bryns bullets certainly help.
What cartridge is the barrel chambered in?

What twist rate does your rifle have? Have you tried any other 6mm Targex bullets?

1-14 I believe, as for the rest, Bryn (TARGEX) is the best person to ask

@Larrygoat what sort of rest did you use for that group?
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

The front rest was a bit of a custom rig donated to the club. On top of a bit of 18mm plywood was mounted a car jack, with a leather wrapped cradle for the rifle to rest in, pretty slick bit of kit to be honest. Sandbag rear rest.

Smoko time here & saw this. Yes it is a 1 in 14" twist which is ideal for the Targex 70grHP/FB I make.
Not many NZDA records those bullets don't hold, mostly shot by Colin Curreen & Brenda Perry using them.
Brenda & I took out the NZ v Aussie team shoot both using them a few years back before covid etc etc...
You'll shoot sub moa eventually prone off your elbows with a sling once you master that too.
Need a couple clicks right too, just saying...
