Thread: Long Range Shooting club in Christchurch

As per title, does anyone know of a club or group that gets together every wee while with a decent range?

Sparrowhawk has the best setup, a little further south though. Malvern(?) rifle club has a range at the base of Porters Pass. Not sure what classes they shoot.

Tai Tapu there is a range, operates seasonally summer. Gave them a hand way back to fix it up after the earthquakes. Had a day rate or membership, can only afford one range so didn't join. Pm me have some old email addresses for more info. Put Tai Tapu into the sesach on this site think there is a bit of feed back.

Unfortunately, unless you are a facebook nutter, the only club near ChCh is Malvern and their link goes to FB...

There is also Ashburton.

The old Tai Tapu club hasn't been listed on the NRANZ site for ages.
Used to be quite a strong club, with apre shoot at the Tai Tapu pub.

First Sunday over every month down at Sparrowhawk is open range day. If i were you I'd do load dev at at local range I.e handloaders, confirm dope on open days and enter competitions all through the south if that's your thing too. They run some good precision rifle courses too.
