Well thats very chaotic () and catastrophic. I would have thought the maker would have gone to his barrel supplier and lodged a claim....surely? I would be asking this question. Warranty is a very broad word and has many interpretations.
I'm not a current pistol shooter, so out of the loop a little, but I'm fucked if I know how you could have caused that breakage. Good luck with your pursuit of answers from the maker, don't give in.

Metal fatigue related? Caused a crack that propagated with continued use until the catastrophic failure. Was it new or had it done much shooting?
A circumferential crack would not be created by internal pressure... I assume you didn't hang something heavy off the end of the barrel for a couple of thousand rounds?

Off centre bore is a pure manufacturing issue. Almost all the causes I can think of are a manufacturing or material defect...

I would think fatigue or just a weak point in a bad batch of metal.

Or it was not fitted properly in the first place.
A custom bull barrel requires some final fitting by way of filing or machining. I have done a couple but am certainly no expert.

But if not done correctly could possibly add undue circumferential stress.

However I did visually check the fit when I first got it and it seemed perfect as you would expect for a custom gun.

No, nothing ever hung of it just come out of the slide for cleaning and replaced. Never had to force anything.
Just under 10,000 rnds thru it. Should last nearly 100,000

I did note that it appeared cracked for a while as there appeared to be scorch mark at 12 O clock thru the break about 5mm wide. No prolonged effect where it would gas wash on the slide tho.

Reminds me of the failures they had in MAB stainless barrels that caused them to be withdrawn.

I'm no metallurgist but the word "ïnclusion" springs to mind

I may soon have a 40cal that you could buy for scrap metal price X 1000.
Dodgy history, shoots alright after filing the crown a bit.....

Not gold plated though...... (apart from price )

HERA (heavy engineering research association) would be a good point of contact for an opinion/ analysis of mode of failure if it goes to disputes or court.
They are based in manakau south auckland.

It will be sent to the states first as someone there is interested in it.
Thanks for the advice as I may need the peace of mind.

I dont want to have to go to court over it.
It is plainly obvious to me that it is not caused by poor ammunition or operation.

If proved wrong I will happily pay and move on having learned a valuable lesson.

Just want them to do the right thing.
If I do lose out over it I will sell it and never buy another one. I am sort of put off the gun even tho repaired.

Does that mean I have to have Dundee with me every time I take it for a hunt?

Have settled on a 55gr load that shoots really well. Rifle seems to like the heaver bullets.

Perfect nite for a walk so will see if I can find something for it to get angry at.

Malcolm's K-Hornet likes the sierra 55gr SMP projectiles. They shoot well - he uses his for home killing sheep (and previously deer as well) mostly.

I started with Speer 52gr HPs in my K-Hornet - crazy deadly varmint bullet. I think i was getting 2700-2800fps out of it using AR2205 powder. My target round was the sierra 52gr HPBT and they shot awesome as well. Then i shifted to the hornady 40gr V-max in front of 14gr of Lil'gun for 3150fps and magpies that turned into puffs of feathers
