The Aussie long range gun guy on YouTube was shooting at a plate at 1900 yards I think it was , with a Marlin 1895 .... Standing !!
Plenty of vids of guys shooting 1000 yards with the old single shot rifles , but as Micky said , probably the longer cartridge .

Don't tell every one as the 225eldm are still easy enough to get!

Anything else someone can recommend ? 300prc ? - i like the idea of semi custom cartridges.
What do you call long range? I would have their either of your saums would get you out a pretty long way

Yeah, saums do, 500m easily enough. But I'd like somthing with some more stopping power at 500-800m. Like lobbing 220gr down at 800m starting at 3300fps... I'm leaning towards the 7mm-300prc still.

I'd go that blaser on here longest deer I shot with it was a big mature read at 857 and it folded it in half nice easy 180gn and 3060fps also shot deer with your 6.5 saum over 700mtrs with the 156 Berger. The blaser cut things in half unreal

I dont get how that's a problem? Transform it then? Put a real barrel on it and a longer one at that .7 300 wsm your wasting money on what you could do with a rebarrel on the saum the fat max is epic but a big job but I say go for it . The master of efficiency in this list is the blaser mag and none of them are different their all done a million times over by now
    7mmsaum and GWH like this.
