The irony is that this is exactly the sort of BS the NZDA (as a hunter advocacy group) should be standing up against.

Based on the emails I receive from NZDA it seems like they don’t want to rock the boat too much. Compliance this, compliance that - and don’t forget to register your firearms too! They aren’t exactly a bastion of resistance to the assault on private firearm ownership. I suppose their primary concern is hunting anyway.

Sorry but that’s not true. They do far more advocacy for shooters than any group that represents shooters. Their office is located across from parliament for a reason

Maybe you are confusing them with PNZ?

    Maybe my perception is wrong.

Did they advocate against the the mass confiscation in 2019?

What about FAL applicants being punished for the police’s mistakes vetting the CHCH murderer by making the process significantly more long winded and difficult?

    What about the firearms register?

I am a member. Hence my comments.

Cheers for the snarky reply, perhaps you could contribute something positive to the conversation yourself then.

I would tend to disagree with the above statement. They were notably quiet in the aftermath of Ch-Ch where as COLFO and SSNZ were onto it straight away. NZDA make a bit of noise then quietly stand back and watch what happens. I am a member of all three organisations, NZDA the shortest time. I only joined them as a requirement of forest companies for public liability insurance, even though my personal insurance gives better more comprehensive cover. But that’s another subject. Everyone should be a member of at least one of the organisations mentioned. NZDA by default gives affiliation to COLFO.
