    It is better, but on the other hand, a fixed 4x lets me do all this reticle hold business which works very well. I guess I could do it all at 7x. Never noticed 4x being too low shooting game, just paper. I prefer a bright orange dot so I can see it clearly when it pokes out around the cross hairs.

    I have only remembered now that I have had 4 x on all my scoped rifles for so long I must have got used to them. Even shooting paper I am doing as well as I did with a scope on 9x. Or so I imagine. I still shoot little groups with the rifles that can do it. I think it depends what kind of target you are shooting at, I shoot at little hollow squares.
    I never thought 4x was too small for hunting, actually the opposite. I used to carry the rifle on 3x when I used 3-9x scopes.
