    Online shooting school: Windcalls

This years online shooting school will focus on doing windcalls.

I'm pulling it all the way back in order for everyone to understand, and you can simply leave the series when it's no longer relevant to you.

This is the first episode that basically puts emphasis on the most important success factors.

    Thanks Norway.
I dont mind seeing a couple of adverts to enjoy seeing a bit of shooting. Good on you.
This is what i took from 13 min of blah blah blah:
Use the cheapest match ammo you can find and plenty of it
Experience and volume of practice is more important than the brand or differences between similar cartridges. But Lapua has sponsord this video so give them a thought.
Look for wind direction by hand / face.
Ascertain wind strength at chest height or a bit more, along bullet trajectory not 10cm from the ground.
Use tree and twig movements or mirage if its light.
In very light wind at 300-400 m you might get 5-10 cm ( 0.2 mRad ) deflection.
There will always be some wind effect.

Here's the second part, scaling it down to lightweight hunting rifles and secondfocalplane scopes

    Good summary!
Add from first video: Never fail to identify direction left or right. That will mess you up more than any other error in your windcall.

If you want to stay at level "ignorant", try to completely leave centimeter/mrad and rather see the winddrift in relation to your crosshairs & vital area. Respond directly to your "raw image",don't go via a theoretical abstract to reach your decision/shot. It should make for more solid procedures/ less error. Again, this is if you have no real interest and just want to make better shots and have it as simple as possible. More on this later.

I have been watching already Thomas! You do well talking straight to the camera now too. Many years back you showed a group of us how to shoot something at 1000 yards with a normal hunting rifle and I have never forgotten the lessons.
