I just shoot the cans of crappy sugar fuzzy drinks the Warehouse sells, you know the brands you have never heard of.

Few chunks of dry ice and a bit of a shake makes them pop
2 person game.
Fill a coffee can or baby food can - push lid type can, with water, lid on.
Put a empty drink can on top.
First person with a rifle (black powder front stuffer ) shoots the bottom can.
Second person with a shot gun (prefer black powder....) has to shoot the flying drink can before it hits the ground.
Sounds easy........ but is bloody great fun!

The .22LR may have a greater "shock" effect to set off and displace C02 from the liquid if you cut the tip of the projectile flat, like a wadcutter.
Place the bottle's bottom towards you to give your bullet more distance-through-fluid to transfer energy into the carbonated water.
Bright red food dye to simulate the oxygenated blood of a lung shot. Hmm - maybe best leave that one till kids are older.

I can still visualise the dent in the roof. I think the old man ripped us a new one after that. Stories of peeling a kid off a garage wall in the 70s after he tamped down some home made gunpowder too hard and the rod impaled him. Etc.

you get the idea, I find it far too unpredictable to use safely, depending on the bottle it can get to 600+ psi.
