Thread: Rifle range whangarei

Hi guys haven't been on here for a long time but I though I'll put it out there that Whangarei has one of the best rifle range in the country. It's been two years in the making we can shoot from 150 yards up 1000 from one firing point on the silver mountain targets .that means we can shoot 300 600 1000 yards at the same time without moving the firing point is covered in so we keep dry and don't get sun burnt.
This is the only range that I know of in the country the range is fully certified to NRA standard
We shoot FClass FPR TR Hunter class FTR Classic we top F class shooters that represents Newzealand in F open FTR TR

Thanks for posting. Can members or non-members just turn up and use the range for zeroing or a bit of practice?

It's only open for some practice day's the rest of the time is comps only. Give the Pres a call, numbers on the web site.

@Dakota one shot it might be worth putting in a plug for your upcoming Northland Champs.
Always a great roasting hot weekend although the last I attended was at Kauri Mountain.
Although on your website the PRS guys may not be aware of their inclusion now.

Hi all the northland champs are on the 28 -29 Feb this will be the second time having it at the new range.
The PRS class is for any rifle of the shelf PRS build eg rugger and any caliber you don't have to compete against the F open

FWIW this isn't the only NRANZ certified range in New Zealand.

Most NRANZ affiliated ranges are either certified or in the process of getting their certification.
(This is what was reported to the NRANZ AGM in January.)

That's not what I ment it's the only one build like that and that is NRA certified sould had full stop
