    Rifle Validation Locations

Hey team hope everyone is well, looking for somewhere to possibly validate my rem mag on some gongs? I travel to the ruahines alot so anywhere between Taranaki and there would be awesome. I also have a gong I can bring. Could trade venison or a box of beers? Rifle is suppressed. Dont like asking for help etc but I dont really have any other options. If anyone knows of any ranges between taranaki and the ruahines let me know. Thanks guys

I would seriously consider contacting Nathan Foster ...seeing your location he is right there....he may have spot or at worst be able to guide you for half day .the cost $$$$ wise might be well spent, heck you might even pick up a good habit or two.

Yeah cheltenham is good. They meet saturdays. cost $10. turn up 1pm to shoot or 12pm to sight in, but the sight in is a production line. They shoot at one distance a day though. 300 yards , 300 meters, 500 yards, and 600 yards i think. They have electronic targets that you sync to your i phone or tablet. But its a long drive and you would have to shoot a set distance. So its probably not what you are after. Its not a range you can just turn up to.

    Hey,

I have a 600 yard target/gong on the farm. If you are happy to come down Foxton way you are welcome to use it

Gidday man, I’ve got a range setup in Marton. 200,400,500,600,700 from one mound. I’ll be up in Marton next weekend, hopefully land owner hasn’t started lambing out the back yet but I’ll double check. A box of beers for the farmer would be a goer if you were keen.

Thanks for the recommendations! You can catch up with what we're doing on any particular Saturday here...

    www.sporty.co.nz/cheltenhamrifleclub

...and I usually post on Thursday morning. The programme for next year 2020-2021 has not yet been set in concrete - the AGM will be on 5th September. If you want to shot at multiple ranges then the Club Competition days are probably best as we do 3,5 and 600 yards in one afternoon - you can just shoot in the "Hunter' group, 2 sighter and 5 to count at each range. You'll need to sight in and know your rises for each range - if you don't get on the target with your sighters then it's off the firing point - we can't afford to lose any of the electronic bits on the target face!

    See you there!
