    Scope to Barrel clearance.

    Hi Guys
Just fitted up my existing scope to re-barrelled rifle, new barrel is a larger profile therefore scope is a lot closer now. Just wandering is there a minimum distance to work to for this? Just thinking of barrel whip etc

Yip - the closer the better without touching.

Two bits of newspaper between barrel and scope is my main minimum.

A quick dab with the angle grinder creates enough gap under the scope.

Barrel, hell man you will let the gas out if you grind the scope, scope can be tapped with a hammer to flatten it a bit, not too much though.

You should start your own gunsmithing business, guns guns, or sighting solutions are two names that spring to mind. I could send some work your way if you thread barrels with a hand die set.

Instead of threading barrels for suppressors I would braze them on, no worries about them coming loose.

Try junk mailers...there is plenty of those in the letter box this time of year and they are free. Too scratchy and smeary for arse wipe but no shortage at the moment. We got some this morning; Super cheap, Stihl, Noel Leemings, Countdown, New world , Liquor outlet of some sort, and a couple of different warehouse ones. All will work fine for what you are after....
