I got a thicker recoil pad for my 7x65 K95, tames it down nicely. Still a boot though.

Niggeloh also make the perfect sling for the K95
It has 3 bullet loops that are nice and deep for the sort of rounds that you want in a rifle like this.
And it has a small domed pouch intended for a scope cleaning cloth where I keep a laminated and folded range chart

The K95 is not a front rest friendly rifle
Fore end is a delight to carry and gorgeous
But very fine and doesn't sit well on a bag or hasty field rest.
This was my solution and it works well.
All up this is still much lighter than my lightest R93 was.
So once I mastered shooting this well to over 500m I sold all my R93 hoard.
I have had this K95 for about 15 years and for the first 10 years I didn't use it very much.
There were issues I never really took the time to solve.
Long range ease of use was the main issue.
Sloved
Doughnuts in the case necks. My 6.5x65R did push up doughnuts and case prep always frustrated me with little issues and the case / loaded round needs to be perfect in a kipplauf.
I learned to solve this problem when modifying brass for obsolete BP cartridges.
Solved
The last problem / issue was it came from the factory with a 10 ounce / 350 gram trigger pull which i found a bit light and didn't especially like.
That trigger was terrible for guys not used to it.
Now I love that trigger having solved the bipod and loading issues.

I have to ask, is it worth it? Looks like too much hassle and too nice for NZ. Maybe for shooting driven boar at a stand in central Europe.
How to answer that ?
Worth it $s or effort !
Well solving problem / improving things is the essence of being a human ( isn't it )
It would be a very sad world if we took what big business told us we wanted and used it as is.
Loose the passion to improve and evolve and you might as well just give up or give in.

With my K95 I just rest over my pack. Works well for the ranges I shoot, longest deer is 390yds. Have shot it out to 900yds with pretty good accuracy. Shot a 3.5” 3 shot group at 550yds. From memory I did have a bag under the the butt as well.
Here is a vid of the shooting mentioned above.
very Impressive grouping at that distance with a hunting rifle. Cool vid, good share.
It took me a bit to get used to mine as well but time at the range sorted it and they shoot very well indeed. I never had intentions to suppress mine but want to take it roo shooting so have just recently put one on. Still balances well and does look okay too. Stretched it out to just under 600 yds today.
