I thought you got better as the day went on and finished very strong, Muzz. You are shooting arguably the hardest grade as well?

Might start a different thread but thought I would see who from the South Island is going up to the ipsc nationals in Wangas?

I am pretty keen but maybe split motel and travel costs with another keen member or 2.

gimp has to work otherwise we would travel up the western side.

I am happy to drive or fly. No matter to me.

F#$K It. I have decided to drive up, less hassle with guns and shit. Flights are a mess with timings and heaps of waiting, driving will be cheaper.

Still keen on sharing accommodation costs with some keen buggers.

Might I suggest that if you are to do that do what many of us Aucklanders do on away trips and look into a bookabach or the like. You pay about the same or less generally for accommodations that are superior to what you find in motels. The great thing about Wanganui (who would have thought great and Wanganui could be put in the same sentence) is that even on the outskirts of town it is still a quick drive.

Flights especially to Wanganui are limited both in frequency and capacity...it pays to get in early. Firearms on a plane is not an issue, just ring a couple of weeks in advance say you are carrying and then at check in mention again they will put a different label on the bag and you pick up in person rather than on the carousal. Ammunition if the problem normally of a 5kg limit but I think that is well over what you need for most shoots. I used to do the 5 1/2 hour drive down each time and got there tired and grumpy...given the choice I only fly now.

A few folks from Auckland are staying at 151 on London
Wanganui Accommodation, Wanganui Hotels Serviced Apartments Wanganui

try the NZ IPSC Facebook page and see if there's a bed in room. I've cancelled my trip this year, work has refused my annual leave application due to commitments

Cheers fellas. I will find something I am sure.

Not gunna fly. Gunna drive as I have a few stops on the way.
