    SIGHTING IN

    Morning Guys but this is proberly a really stupid question

    but what is a good distance to sight my .22 in at ?

    I sight my .22's at 25 metres and then check the drop at further ranges up to 80 metres...an 80 metre shot at a bunny is at it's extreme...and yeah, yeah we have all pinged off a lucky shot way beyond that.

    60m with subs, then your pretty good for aiming straight at them ish from close up and out to 75-80m ish. note the ish

    ok so too add on i have a 3-9 x40 scope with the adjustable paralax setting if sighing in at 25mtr
    where do i set that ?

    I doubt the markings are accurate - what you want is that the sight doesn't move around the view if you move your eye around - i.e. the whole picture should stay still (or near too it)

    Yea im talking on front lense you can turn the if i remember i markings ar 10yrd 15 yard 20yards 50yards and so forth

    I always set any parallax scope to infinity as I think they are a waste of time...in fact I try and avoid parallax scopes as they are just one more thing to blame when you miss.

    Yep thats it - so set it for the range you normal will shoot - also having your eye dead centre helps too!

    As spook says if its set wrong you can "aim" with your eye (and not the rifle) and completely miss -

    I sight mine bang on 75y with high velocity.
    "Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
